FOUNDER & VISIONARY · STEM CHAMPION
Founder FTC Champion Dean's Semi-Finalist Robotics Coach

Agileblast Academy is the vision of Team Leader Shaurya — a remarkable young leader who has turned his passion for robotics, STEM, and community service into a movement that empowers students across the United States and around the world.

Shaurya began his Robotics journey at age 6 — competing and winning at Regional and State levels in both FIRST Lego League (FLL) and FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC). He has coached multiple robotics teams into competition and volunteered at robotics events at UIUC.

As President of the National Junior Honor Society and a Varsity Tennis player at Plainfield North High School, Shaurya balances athletic and academic excellence while continuing to teach, coach, and mentor students in Math, Coding, and Robotics.

Common Questions

Academy FAQ

What ages do your STEM classes for kids serve?

Our Math and Coding classes are open to kids ages 6–18, and Robotics starts at age 8. Curriculum and pacing are grouped by age and skill level rather than a one-size-fits-all class, so a 7-year-old just starting arithmetic and a 16-year-old prepping for Math Olympiad both get material that actually fits where they are.

What's the difference between your Math, Coding, and Robotics tracks?

Math tutoring covers everything from arithmetic and fractions through algebra, geometry, calculus, and Math Olympiad competition prep. Coding classes for children start with Scratch, move into Python for kids, and progress to web development and app building. Robotics blends both — students design and program robots using LEGO EV3 and Arduino, then compete in FIRST Robotics tournaments. Many families enroll in more than one track since they reinforce each other.

Do you offer after-school STEM programs, or only weekend classes?

We run both. Our core sessions are weekend and weeknight classes (details are confirmed on your free discovery call based on availability), and we also work with families and schools to set up after-school STEM programs during the week. If you're specifically searching for "robotics classes near me," ask on your call — we'll tell you whether we have an in-person cohort in your area or whether our live online format is the better fit.

What robotics equipment and platforms do you actually use?

Students build with LEGO EV3 kits for foundational mechanical and programming concepts, then move into Arduino for more advanced electronics and coding projects, plus AI basics as they progress. Our curriculum is built around FIRST Lego League (FLL) and FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) competition standards, so what your child learns transfers directly into real tournament experience.

Is this a good fit for a child preparing for Math Olympiad or a coding competition?

Yes — Math Olympiad prep is a specific track within our Math program, not an afterthought, and our Coding curriculum includes the algorithmic thinking that competitive programming rewards. Team Leader Shaurya's own robotics path (FTC champion, FIRST Dean's List Semi-Finalist) shapes how we coach students who want to compete, not just learn the basics.

My child has never coded or done robotics before — is that okay?

Completely. Most students start with zero experience. Coding begins with Scratch's visual, drag-and-drop interface before introducing Python, and Robotics starts with guided LEGO EV3 builds before touching Arduino. The free discovery call is where we figure out the right starting point for your child specifically.
